This study was carried out to investigate the effect on the serum levels of chemicals and lipids and macroscopic observation on the aortic arch of Sprague-Dawley rats treated with high-cholesterol (40§·/§¸) and vitamin D©ü (240,000IU 1 §¸) for initial four days.
In treated rats, the levels of total cholesterol, total lipid, phospholipid, LDL-VLDL-cholesterol trigiyceride and calcium in serum, total lipid in liver were increased significantly (P$lt;0.05).
The aorta showed the medial sclerosis with calcification and accumulation of lipids in the media of aortic arch.
